Rev. William Engfehr has been asked to serve as our Interim Pastor while we are seeking a new Resident Pastor. Pastor Engfehr lives in Collinsville, and retired four years ago from Holy Cross in Collinsville, after 20 years as Senior Pastor. He has 39 years experience in the Pastoral Ministry. During that time, he has served numerous vacant congregations in our district, including recently at Immanuel, West Point, and St. Paul, Wine Hill.
Pastor Engfehr and his wife Lois have three children, all married, and five grandchildren. Lois is Grant Development Manager for Lutheran Hour Ministries at its headquarters in St. Louis.
In addition to parish responsibilities, Pastor Engfehr volunteers as a Chaplain with the Illinois State Police, serves on St. Louis and Southern Illinois Critical Incident Stress Management teams, is a Disaster Preparedness Instructor with the American Red Cross, and assists our Synod as an Emergency Services Chaplain for Disaster Response.
Pastor Engfehr will serve St. Mark’s as Interim Pastor on a three-quarter time basis.
You may contact Pastor Engfehr through the Church Office. In case of emergency, call him directly at home (618 345-5360) or cell (618 973-4309). He will be in the office a couple of days each week. Stop in and say “Hello” as you have opportunity.
